After his Hollywood successes, John Malkovich landed in Prato and set up a showroom/shop with products from his clothing range and other brands of Italian-made goods. And TT Tecnosistemi, of which Beta 80 Group is a partner, chose the charming "Opificio JM" premises for its technological Open Day.
More than 100 representatives of TT Tecnosistemi's clients and prospective clients (industry, manufacturing, Public Administration, etc.) took part in the event, and Beta 80 Group participated as an outsider. Chance decreed (or was it really chance?) that almost all participants should take notes on tablets resting on their knees. So all it needed was for the moderator, Maurizio Cuzari, to announce that there was a Mobile Device Management demo at the Beta 80 Group stand, and the public took it by storm.
Requests for detailed information, checking applicability, and demonstrations of the concreteness of the solution - these were the subjects that kept Beta 80 Group staff busy for the rest of the day.
And then there were further possibilities, as everyone imagined the best way to use smart devices in their own ICT infrastructures. The idea that stood out the most was the one from a civil servant from a large borough in Central Italy. He would like his administration to equip the municipal police with light, efficient tablets instead of the heavy and hard-to-manage terminals that are in use at the moment. Will we see Municipal Policemen with iPads or Androids? We don't know, but with Beta 80 Group's MobileIron solutions this possibility could become a big reality-show instead of remaining a vague science-fiction film.
